  1. An old trekker says:

These shoes feel a little tighter than the 5 year old pair they are replacing so that surprised me a bit – but the others had a lot of use so they’ve probably broken down a little. I like the added support in the new shoes. My old Merrill mocs are now my barn shoes – only the tread was really worn and had become slippery on snow and smooth wet surfaces. They are my lazy person shoes since they are so easy to slip on and off and go almost anywhere. I work for a park so they double as an office shoe and a hiking shoe for quick trips (not enough ankle support for real trekking) but I’ve scrambled up and down some pretty steep slopes in them. Favorite use is after pulling off the ski boots at the car.

  2. Kelly Foster says:

I really wanted a shoe that I could easily wear in cold weather that would also withstand a little snow and slush. I have been very pleased with other Merrell shoes I have purchased in the past, however, after wearing this shoe for a few days, I realized I should have bought a 1/2 size larger. I usually wear a 6, even in other Merrells, but feel that this particular shoe runs a little small.

We bought these shoes for our daughter-in-law for Christmas. She wore them on our trip to mountains and loved them. She has to wear a heavier sock with them as they are sized a little bigger than she normally wears. She loved them and everyone on the ski trip wanted a pair. Her husband has a pair just like them. The black suede is sharp and looks good with any casual outfit.

Last year, I happened on a pair of Merrell’ s jungle moc shoe in the sale area of Von Maur shoes. For walking, standing, all day comfort, I found them to be the most comfortable shoe – ever. Unfortunately, I lost one of the shoes and I was determined to find another pair, so I went through the Internet looking for Merrell shoes. I purchased a pair in a size 8 and they fit just like they should. Even though they are a warm shoe, I find I can wear them all day and my feet do not get hot. I walk – a lot – and stand – a lot – in my job and when I wear these shoes, I get no fatigue in my feet or legs. I always bring a pair of dress shoes to wear – because I wear dress clothes in my job – but I rarely change into the dress shoes because I don’t want to give up the comfort.

  5. Karen from Briceland says:

My “old” pair, which I have worn every day except for sandal weather, is six or more years old and fully operational. They just look scruffy, so now I have a town pair and a mud pair. The toe box is roomy so you are secretly walking barefoot in there. The vamp doesn’t pinch my arch. The bottom is totally supportive and STURDY, obviously, after six years stomping around off-grid, without being stiff. There is enough tread on the bottom to scramble around in the woods or on gravel. Only slip problem I ever had was on snow, and even then the fit is so positive that you can cope by digging in sideways like in hiking boots. There was no suffering about breaking in a new pair, they worked right away. I feel like my feet are being carried around in a queen’s palanquin, while giving me the freedom to be a tomboy. The only improvement that could possibly be made would be to give them an actual lug sole, but then maybe I wouldn’t wear them to parties.

I bought a pair of these for my mother who was worn them every day since I gave them to her, in and out of the house. She wanted a comfortable slip-on shoe that could be worn anywhere. She has diabetes-related neuropathy which results in numbness in her feet, so she needed a shoe like this with a full heel back so they won’t come off her feet when she doesn’t feel it (this ruled out the Merrell Jungle Slides unfortunately). She loves the comfortable fit of this shoe which hugs the side of her feet and heels snugly, and also provides comfort for her arch and toes. The tread is enough to for just about any surface. No slipping with these shoes. She also likes the look on the heel to pull the shoes on with. No more shoe horns.Great shoes, highly recommended, and they’ll last for years.

Suffering with a bad back and achy feet, I needed a walking shoe for three weeks in Europe and had seen Merrell shoes mentioned on several travel forums. Thank goodness I did! I didn’t have much time to break them in before going but it didn’t matter as they were very comfortable right out of the box. The first week we walked all over Rome and I thanked God for my shoes, no kidding. They were comfortable and my feet and back were just a normal tired at the end of each day. And it poured down rain when we were in Venice but my feet stayed warm and dry and my mocs did not look any worse for wear the next day. We also traveled to Germany and Austria where we had to hike up some pretty steep trails to visit castles and churches–not a problem with my mocs!I love these shoes!! For combat sightseeing, I highly recommend them and they’ve stayed in use now that we’re home.

This is about my 10th pair of Merrells. They are well suited for a wide foot (which I have) and are well constructed. My last pair of similar style shoe was the winter style and this is a lighter version. It is perfect for walking in somewhat snowy/sloppy weather with suitable traction but is also suitable for indoor wear as they are not as hot or as heavy as the other Moc style Merrell slip on shoe. It is dressy enough for most casual events when a sneaker or hiking shoe is too rugged, but very comfortable. I love them. Great travel shoe, easy to walk in and good in New England weather. They felt somewhat roomier than I had expected but will comfortably handle a regular knee sock and yet I don’t feel like I am slipping out of them.

After a foot problem 2 years ago, I found the Jungle Moc and was happy I did. The shoe offered great support at the instep and was a good looking shoe.Today I not only wear them for everyday use but also use them as a walking shoe. The athletic shoes I have do not offer the support and comfort of these Mocs!I have the brushed taupe shoe and am very pleased with how well this shoe holds up to my everyday use and abuse. I am not particularly kind to my shoes. With three identical pair of Jungle Mocs, these shoes truly are MY PERFECT SHOE!

  10. A. Riley says:

This is my second pair of Merrell Jungle Mocs. I already had a brown pair that has lasted for 2 years and still looks and feels almost like new, so I decided to get a black pair, as well. These are very comfortable for walking and standing. This pair seemed a little narrower than my other pair of the same size, but perhaps I have broken in that other pair better than I realized over the 2 years! If you have knee or hip problems, you will like the support and stability this shoe offers.

  11. Debbie says:

I went to a local shoe store to purchase Merrell Moc shoes. They did not have the correct color, nor were they interested in getting it for me. A co-worker had told me about this site. I knew what size I needed and color. I ordered, received confirmation, shipping details, etc. I had the shoes on the door step the day they said I would. I was very very impressed! I got them for less then the store wanted, saved money too! I would highly recommend you to anyone who needed shoes.Thank you

  12. Amol says:

These Jungle Mocs are great for travel, my wife used them in Europe 5 years ago, and still had those, but the tread is gone. We bought another pair for our next trip. These are light weight, easy to take on and off, and you can walk in them for hours. I only wish, they were more water resistant. In Europe (Rome, Venice, Paris) they handled some light rain, without too much issue. So, they are kinda water resistant, but the Nubuck, is not the best water resistant material. I think, they make Gore-Tex versions of these mocs, I’ll probably by those later.

  13. Chris C. says:

This is one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I’ve ever worn. From the first, they were like walking on clouds. I needed a good pair of walking shoes to get into condition for a trip to Europe, and these keep my feet smiling. I like the idea of a slip-on shoe for ease at airport security checks. The only discomfort I’ve experienced is where the shoe tongue hits my ankle front. Hopefully, that will ease after a break-in period. I also have problems with a reoccurring plantar wart, but I find these shoes very protective and buffering.

  14. Jim says:

I discovered this product when we lived in Iowa when I was searching for a shoe that would be comfortable, water resistent and had traction. A shoe I could wear when I was running errands or doing outside activities during the winter months of light snow or ice. I have enjoyed wearing this shoe all year round. It is that comfortable. Since 2000, this is my 3rd pair. The shoe doesn’t wear out but my wife thinks that I need a better looking pair when we go to casual social activities. Therefore, I have a decent looking pair and a old pair to do dirty chores.
