Featured Review: (by laddie), I purchased the wheat colored boot at the factory store in Woodbridge, VA – the boot is comfortable and stylish. However while walking around in the boot, I noticed that when the shoe lace rings rub against the leather, it causes a squeaking sound, similar to rubbing your finger across the washed surface of a plastic container. I thought it could have been a residue left on the rings from the manufacturing process, so I wiped all of the rings with a clear isopropyl alcohol, but it did not help. Because of the crowd noise in the factory store, the squeaking sound is not apparent, but walking around at home in a quiet setting, the sound is much more noticeable. I also just received the Brown Rime I ordered online and after walking around in them, the shoe lace rings make the same sound . Overall, I think it is a great boot – I hope the issue I’ve experienced is not a wide-spread problem.
Featured Review: (by Adam), After about 2 weeks of wearing the boots every day for 10-14 hours a day, the liner inside the left heel started slipping causing an annoying noise while walking. I returned them with in the 30 day satisfaction guarantee time frame. I initially spoke to Timberland direct and received awful customer service, after notifying the customer service representative that I was relying on the 30 day satisfaction guarantee I was referred to timberland.com customer service. After speaking to the timberland.com representative I was extremely satisfied with the resolution. I have owned 2 pairs of the steel trax boots which are pretty tuff even though the soles a bit on the hard side. Too bad timberland.com seems like an entirely different company.
Featured Review: (by P on a Trek), I bought these boots last minute for a 28 mile hike up Machu Picchu. The boots not only need no break in time, but by the end of the trek, I was the only person sans joint pain and blisters. On the final day, we had 6 hours of heavy rain, yet my feet remained dry. I ended up wearing them for three weeks all over Peru. Fantastic purchase and well worth the price.

Featured Review: (by Gblas), Probably the best work boots I have owned were the timberland pit boss from about 12 years ago. They were comfortable from the start, made of good sturdy leather, true steel shank for a great solid platform, indestructible seam stitching, and a sole that seemed imposible to wear out. That was a great wookboot until they changed things. Later models felt more like a tennis shoe.to soft; wore out fast, and very little support therefore tried a different style. Went with the endurance pro, an ok shoe. Comfortable but still lacking that good solid feel, inner sole started seperatingafter about 3 months. I bet most people will give up a little in weight savings for a good solid feeling platform. Next to the helix pro, pretty much a waste of my time and money. They are way too soft, offer no support or stability and the quality is way lacking. About the same quality as the local giant retail chains sale items. You guys at timberland once made the best work shoes out there. Now….not..hope you change it around.

Featured Review: (by jimmyo), I’ve had my euros for four days. I was concerned that the boot felt a tad long for my natural 10.5 size feet, but that worry went away after a little research. The aim is to have at least a finger’s width of extra toe room for practical reasons… so, the fit, while just that much longer, is really ideal. The boot is great. Well constructed (from what I can tell) and handsome. Needed only about an hour to break in. I thought I’d be using these for work and rough stuff, but they’re a little too nice for that right now. I don’t want to mess them up! I think these boots are made for walking, though, and light hiking. Very comfortable, but more serious hiking would require a firmer ankle grip. I have no doubt they’ll serve well for daily use. Light and pliable, they work well with any casual outfit. I don’t know about their weather-proof characteristics, but I wouldn’t venture into water deliberately. It seems they’ll take about one to two inches of brief immersion in standing water and will do fine in rain, snow and mud. I think for the money, they’re a great investment.

Featured Review: (by Justin M.), I wear my Timberland Pitboss boots 12+ hours out of the day and I am not impressed. Timberland’s Powerwelt 6 Inch Steel Toe boots are what turned me on to this brand of boot. Transitioning from the Powerwelts to the Pitboss was hard. The Powerwelts were the “Cadillac of All Boots” in my eyes. They were the best boot I’ve ever owned. So, I figured, being a Timberland product, the Pitboss would be on that level. I was wrong. I’ve began to get callus’ on parts of my foot I’ve never gotten before even though I purchased the same size and width as the Powerwelts. The break in period seemed to be months longer than the Powerwelts. I found my ankle rubbed raw after the first 2 weeks of owning them. They were so stiff that it hurt to wear them. After just months of ownership, the right one squeaks, on any surface(It sounds like rubber with in the sole delaminated itself and is rubbing against itself). The Pitboss Boots make my feet sweat alot. I feel as though there is no where near enough breathe ability. I end up wringing my socks out daily(which my girlfriend does not find funny I might add). They do protect me from puddles and mud.(Only my left boot does now, a piece of slag landed on my toe and rolled towards my ankle and burned a hole in the fabric part of the boot.) The right one started squeak a week before the incident. Anyways, they keep my feet warm, and don’t look bad. Needless to say, I will never be buying or recommending this model of Timberland boots. The pain and discomfort outweigh the positives about them.
