This foot frame provides stability and support. The insole is made from the Grade 2 tapered nylon which provides support for the trail performance. The outsole is made from the Vibram® TC5+ rubber. This is my 6th pair of Merrell in last 7 years. I bought the last two pairs from zappos. I have always loved the products of this brand. They design the shoes in a very special way which fulfills all the demands of there customers. I always like the look and feel of this brand and I also love the fact that they are built to last. My last pair by this brand last for 4 years which was amazing. In the mean while I bought other Merrell shoes too. I think I should make one while closet for this brand as I am in love with there shoes. Now coming down to these shoes. I think these shoes are great except they are pretty dang warm, but I was actually expecting this. I had originally wanted a pair of Keens but they kept slipping at the ankle which was annoying, so I returned these and bought these. Luckily these shoes never slip at the ankle. I love the fact that the rubber on the toes of the toes of the shoe are solid and hard like a steel toe, but made with the rubber. They are sturdy although like most shoes they feel a bit stiff in the beginning, but after a few days they soften up very nicely. The grip is also very good. They are far more better than many shoes in the market equally expensive. Overall I love these shoes , but for sure they are not for the hot weather and I have to wear these in chilly and cool environment. The comfort level is very good, but I have inserted my own insoles too for super comfort. I would not rate these 5 starts because they are very expensive first of all, secondly they are limited for the cold weather only. Still I am happy with my purchase.
