Brand Information: Rene Lacoste is the man behind this brand. He was born in France on 2nd July 1904. He had a master mind and therefore he got this nick name "the Alligator" by the American press. His three Open Victories should not be forgotten that was in 1925, 1928, and 1929. Lacoste and Andre Gillier that was the owner and president of the largest French knitwear manufacturer firm of that time, started off with a company in 1933 which manufactured the logo-embroidered shirt which this champion used this wear on the tennis court and as well as a number of there shirts for tennis, golf and sailing. It was the first time when this brand name appeared on the outside of an article of clothing. This idea got fame and became extremely successful. The first shirt of this brand that was launched was white in color.
