I am working as a teacher and I am on my feet all the time. These shoes are ultimate. I have a similar pair like this one from Merrell which I used for years. I wanted to replace that when I saw these shoes which looked like the one I have. I love these too. The heel is just on the right height that is classified as a dressy shoe and because it is a wedge , it is more stable and no turned ankles at all. As long as Merrell will keeping making these shoes I will keep buying them. I also went to Europe with these. I took them as a dress shoe and wore these with light weight socks. One thing I would like to share in that they have some sizing problems as I always order size 6 and it fits perfectly in this brand, but these never fit me well and were too small for my feet. I had to exchange it then and now I can wear these easily. If you get your right size then you will be pleased. Style wise they are dressy enough to be worn at work and also for evening occasions. I wish they were available in other colors too, as it is very tough to find a shoe with complete arch support and a perfect heel height and my walking look really stylish in these. They are very comfortable too. My knees are bad and heel kills them, but this shoe has a good heel. I have only one criticism and that is about the leather which loses color and easily scratched after a few wearing, but still I would love to buy hundred of this shoe as they feel so good and look so cute!
