They breathable upper which allows excellent air pass to keep your feet as fresh and cool as possible. The upper is made from the mesh and nubuck leather. This upper lets the air pass through the shoe to keep the interior cool. The tongue is bellow and the collar is cushioned. This prevents any dirt from entering the shoe and it also prevents ankle discomfort. The laces on the top allow customized and secure fit. The footbed is cushioned and it has some additional cushioning at the heel to provide shocks absorbing and minimize the stress on the heel. The footbed is treated with the Ortholite® anatomical solution to provide more comfort and prevent odor. The arch is made from the nylon which ensures great arch support. A special material QForm® EVA is designed only for the women feet to keep them comfort. This material is used to make the foot frame and it provides support, comfort and stability. The Air Cushion® system from the Merrell is used in the midsole which absorb shocks to deliver additional comfort. The outsole is made from the rubber which is sticky and has 5 millimeters high lugs to provide great traction and grip on all types of surfaces. It weighs 13 ounces as per size 6.5. They are CLOSE, but unfortunately not cigar. At first I thought that This shoe fits like a glove and the length is also ok which provides comfort and support and also ample room in the toe box area which is good. The sole seems to be very grippy and it is very sturdy too. My feet are wide and my heels are narrow , may be that’s why my heels were slipping out of this shoe despite the laces were tied as closely as I could and I was also wearing thick socks. This thing would led to blisters on the trail which is the primary reason they were returned by me as I am very conscious about my feet and I didn’t want them to get hurt by anything. I wear only extremely comfortable shoes. In addition to that the material around the tongue is also very rough and pressed uncomfortably into my feet which was annoying I think this happens because it is rugged nylon and I don’t think that the material would stretch or soften. Pity for such shoes because they seemed t be pretty awesome in every way. I loved the dark grey and purple color scheme and really wanted to keep them but feel sorry to return them.
