Featured Review: (by RBNYC), Chose these as an alternative to the usual Desert Boot for the Summer. In theory, Suede sounded to me counter-intuitive for hot Gotham Summer days. And so these Earthkeeper Desert Boots (I chose the Walnut Brown, of course) seemed Perfect. However, having since received and worn these, I must admit: The appeal of the Desert Boot- I now realize- is very much linked to the rugged yet relaxed properties of Suede, and thus these stiffer, waxed canvas alternatives don’t quite exude that same casual look. They’re comfortable, and will probably be durable. That’s why I still give them a 4. It’s not a quality thing. It’s an aesthetic and design thing. Perhaps they shouldn’t call these Desert Boots but instead a leisure boot based on -or Inspired by- a Desert Boot. Consequently, I’ll be plunking down more money for actual Desert boots. These’ll be re-assigned to Winter wear.
I recommend wearing these boots with neutral colors such as olive green, chocolate brown; dark blue even works. I wear them with skinny jeans. They work like a charm. I’ve been looking for boots like these for a very long time, and now, I don’t regret buying them one bit.
