Not for wide forefeet! I measure a 7 1/2 C or D, and usually end up buying 8 B’s that run wide. I bought the 8 in After Dark (Black). I just tried the 9’s in Obsidian (Brown- don’t they know obsidian is black?). The 9’s were way too big in the heel. The 8’s are a little big in the heel. I’m returning them because my feet got cold in the 8’s sometimes, as I tested them in my living room. My conclusion is that I need a slightly looser fit in the toe end for my feet to be warm all the time. Basically, I have a C forefoot and B heel, and these are meant for a B forefoot and a C heel. [I was wearing them barefoot.] I love the look of these boots, the quality and comfort of the sole and leather and shearling, and the fact that they will be more durable and weather-resistant than an all suede/shearling boot. I like the way the heel flairs out on each side of the foot (more stable). Also, the leather part of the upper and the insole are natural shearling (nice as reviewers and Frye indicate that dark dye will wear off on your feet). [The suede part of the upper is dyed shearling.] I had also hoped to wear them as slippers, but found that they are just a bit too clunky and heavy. I would have kept them and considered them worth the money if they were warm, as they are truly beautiful. I would have used black permanent marker on the white stitching, as someone else suggested (before I treated them with water-repellent). For slippers, (I love warm ankles) I’m hoping Old Friend will be the ticket.
Why did I wait so long? I don’t like succumbing to the latest fad and looking like everyone else, but after wearing these boots in several New England snowstorms I am wondering why I waited so long to get a pair of Frye! They are wonderfully comfortable (esp barefoot – although the dye DOES come off on your feet for a few weeks) and completely waterproof/snow proof and very warm. They run true to size and are just high enough the snow won’t get in when you are stomping around. And of course the Zappos customer service is as close as you can get to instantaneous gratification – I bought them during a free overnight shipping promotion and had them less than 24 hours after placing the order – impressive!!
Hurrryyyyyy!!!!!!! :wub: I have never seen such a wonderful and versatile boot ever and ever in my whole life. They are hell cute and different from day to day boots. I like wearing different boots and this is exactly what I only dream to wear. Spectacular looks :heart: . I immediately purchased it the moment i saw these. I said ” AWESOMMEE” on its first look. I knew that I am going to spell bound the people in these and YES ! :devil: I was right. I wore these on a get together with my jeans tuck in these and I felt great. All people were actually staring them with there eyes wide open and I felt out of this world 😎 . I have never received such comments which I have on these. They have become an essential part of my wardrobe. I become the emphasis point of the whole event. Never felt so important before Thanks to Dannika. The best part is that this is not only a trendy and cute boot, but at the same time it is also very warm. Once my car was broken down and I had to walk to the next block in extreme snow, but thank God I was wearing these beauties. I walked with full comfort and warmth. My feet were happy through out and couldn’t feel more warmth. At the same time the comfort was also spectacular. My feet were cushy and cozy through out. I am really glad to have these.
