Frye is among highly admired and demanding brand in the world. It all started when a shoemaker from England named John A. Frye, founded the brand Frye in 1863 with the mission to create high quality boots. Today in US, this brand is the oldest brand which is still operational. In the past, their shoes were used by the soldiers of American Civil war and Spanish America War. Their shoes were used by the Rough Riders and Teddy Roosevelt. In the middle and end of 1800’s, lots of people from the New England used the Frye boots because they were the best and pioneer boots in the country. Today Frye makes Boots, Sandals, Shoes, Hand bags and other accessories but still they are famous for their superb quality Boots.

The currently made Harness boots of Frye are manufactured with the same tradition as before and they are inspired from the Cavalry. These Harness boots are classy and they have a very excellent and important place in the culture of America. They are not only famous in US, but they have very strong admirers and demand internationally. In 1930, John A. Frye met the Admiral of the U.S. Navy in Washington DC. The Admiral told him that he likes the Wellington Boots a lot but he has hard time finding them. John A. Frye made a pair for him and afterwards they fulfill the request of thousands of boots for the Second World War. They supplied the servicemen with the Wellington Boots through the mail during the Second World War. Those wellington boots are known as the Jet Boots. The Campus Boots were originally introduced in 1860, but in 1960, Frye introduced these boots again. These boots have chunky heel and bulky toes. These boots and style made the style of the 60s and 70s. The market flooded with the people demanding these magnificent boots. To date, the classic and vintage look of the Frye boots is unavoidable and people still demand them.
Frye has earned its name with the superb quality construction using the superb quality material. The leather used in the construction of these boots is extremely high quality. For over 150 years, the Frye has won the heart of the soldiers and civilians and they are still winning hearts in U.S. and internationally.

Some of their famous style include: Frye Veronica Slouch, Harness 12R, Paige Tall Riding, Harness 8R, Frye Billy Pull On and Rogan Hiker. List below are some of the reviews posted by their customers online.

Very beautiful – Although these are very beautiful, I want to begin my review by saying I would not size up. These are sized just like any other Ugg and half sizes should size down NOT up. I did size up as recommended and they are way too big. They are really pretty and warm but not so much for casual wear as other styles of Frye. Stick with the classic styles for casual wear and save these for the ski lodge. I love this shoe! These are so cute I had to keep them, very comfortable too. I wear a 5 to a 5 1/2 and the 5 fit me perfectly.

Beautiful boot, too bad I couldn’t get my foot into it. I have a very high arch and the way the boot was stitched, even when fully opened, I could not get my foot into this boot. I have no idea if it felt true to size etc. I was unable to get it on. Had the same problem last year with one of the new styles, I forget which. I wear them all winter, sure wish I could have worn these they are beautiful.

Great looking boot! I love the boot but thought the sizing would be the same as the Classics and ordered a size 7 (I typically wear and 8). Unfortunately, my big toe is rubbing against the shoe so I must return them. I’ll be ordering the size 8. They are too cute! Very nice boot – size up! I have three other pairs of Frye, all 9s so I ordered these in a 9 and my toe rubbed. Both Zappos and the their website recommend sizing up on this particular style. The reason is that these have a much stiffer toe area than traditional Fryes. Exchanged for a 10 and even they rub a little, but I think in time they will be okay. Fabulous looking boot. A little more work to pull on, but worth it.

Fell in Love at First Sight!! I purchased the Frye Alex Lace Up Boots in black and was ecstatic when they arrived. These boots are absolutely beautiful; cozy and fluffy on the inside and smooth like velvet on the outside. I too found that my toe rubbed in the front but I think in time they will stretch and I’m sure I’ll be less likely to notice when I am out showing off my new booties!!

Adorable Boots!!! LOVED THESE BOOTS!!! They do feel a bit small though. I ordered them in an 8 and I usually wear a 9, but my other styles are a 9 and they’ve always felt a bit big. I could barely get my foot in them. So I am exchanging them for a 9! DEFINITELY go with your regular size these boots.

Wow! Perfect!!! I just received these Arkansas boots and they are amazing! I ordered the same size I always do in traditional styles, meaning a half-size down, and they fit perfectly. I do not feel the toe hitting at all, as others have in this boot. Hmmm…I have a high instep, and it’s true they’re a bit difficult to get your foot down the shaft. But that’s because of the stitching across the top instep, and I know they’ll give anyway- they always do. I love the fact that they also feature Pumps, and Frye Anna Pumps are the best. I got the Mocha, and they are just beautiful. Not too light in color either, which I was apprehensive about. Beautiful boot, and extremely warm and comfy. And as always, Zappos just cannot be beat – by ANYONE!

I have always loved the comfort and feel of this brand. The boots came right on time, I tried them on and fell in love immediately. They are so soft and comfortable I find myself trying to wear them everyday. I live in San Francisco and I can even wear them with a jean skirt in this weather and I stay nice and warm! As far as the look, they are a perfect chocolate color and i get compliments every time I wear them. LOVE THEM.

Alex Boots – I love, love, love these boots!! I already own a few pair of boots and shoes. These were a little more expensive, but boy are they worth it!! When I first saw them on the Frye website, I knew I had to have them. But of course I checked with Zappos to see if you all had them because I knew I’d get a little better price especially with no shipping costs.:-) Everything from the leather (instead of Frye’s usual suede) to the metal plate on the back of the heel says “Quality”. I expect to wear these boots for the rest of my life…and I ain’t that old either…lol!
