Featured Review: (by Mike), I am a large Person 250lb+. I Walk on concrete floors many hours every day in my job as a facility supervisor building maintenance inspector. I started wearing Rockport brand in the 1980’s because of comfort (cushioning cole), support (of my weight), style (shoe’s good looks), and durability of the shoes. I still wear them today although the style has changed some over the years the original look is gone but the quality & important features have remained constant. The shoes are Dressy enough for Business Meetings, Church services, etc., (especially in the Black color, & they will shine if polished). I wear a White pair with shorts, on vacations, and for casual weekend dress. I wear an old pair for fishing, yard and gardening work. These are my everything shoes. I usually purchase 2 pairs at a time, I do rotate the different pairs from new to outside and then to trash. The only problem I ever had!! They set off the metal detectors at the Airport. However now the personnel know this and ask me to remove my shoes before going through the scanner.

The Rockport 7100 is used for my daily (6 days a week)5 1/2 mile walk. It is used both in dry and wet weather. The 7100 was received on the day previously announced. The break in period was the first 2 1/2 hours I used them. There was never a formal break in period such as walking slowly. I immediately assumed my normal pace. The 7100 arrived in pristine shape with superior packaging preventing any bruising or marks. I shall order a second pair to be worn with sports attire or other like informal occasion. They are attractive for this purpose. The 7100 which this pair replaced lasted 3 1/2 years. They were still useable but not for serious walking and so now they are my gardening shoes. They still retain their shape above the heels and on the instep. The laces are the original laces. There has been no compromising that I could detect or feel in material throughout this “shoe system”. The overall design allows the slight extra weight to be worn with no discomfort and ensures strength of the shoe last.

What an easy and pleasant way to shop for great quality shoes for men and women. I bought these for my husband, as he has always liked Rockport and he loves these. They are so comfortable. The best part is he did not have to go to the mall. They are terrific with returns and, of course, free shipping both ways. How can you beat that type of service. They were fast in shipping and kept in touch with e-mail to track my order. I will only buy from Shoebuy in the future. You cannot go wrong. I also would refer them to my friends and family. They have a very huge selection of shoes to choose from, much more than you find in a shoe store. Give them a try, you will not be sorry.

I was hoping for a little more arch support, but they’re okay. They’re better for walking than Rockport loafers. They’re light, they breathe, and they pass at work as a non-athletic shoe (which are forbidden). I walk about 8 miles a day at work, and my legs do feel better wearing these than when I wear Rockport Works loafers. I always get my work shoes a half size larger because my feet swell up a bit during the shift, so I bought 10 instead of 9.5.

Because I suffer from foot problems, after a reasonable length walk I have aching arches and a tendency to suffer from plantar fasciitis. I decided it was time to invest in some appropriate shoes with good support. When reading shoe reviews on the internet the name Rockport was consistent with excellent reviews which prompted me to try the Pro-Walker for myself. Shoebuy seemed the best Internet retailer to deal with. The service from Shoebuy was 5 stars. The shoes were comfortable from day one due to accuracy of size and its shock absorbing characteristics. Although I don’t dislike the shoes, I would like to see some different colors in the range and shoes with a smarter not-so-heavy trainer like upper, which is just a personal preference. I will have no hesitation in buying another pair when the time comes.

I think this is my 5th or 6th pair of these. Since the 1st pair which I bought, took out of the box, and got on a plane for a long weekend in Paris where we walked for MILES inc. the Champs Elysse from Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triumphe and back…twice! My feet never felt a twinge! Thank you for continuing to stock them. I couldn’t find them locally anymore. I’ll be back when I wear these out.

I purchased these shoes last fall, thinking that I was getting the same shoe that I had previously purchased (3 times), and was I ever wrong. These are made in Vietnam, the others were made in China. These shoes hurt my feet so bad, I can’t wear them for any length of time. I’ll never buy another pair. What they might have saved on production, the lost on quality.
