Featured Review: (by Horse Girl), I love these boots! They definitely run small. I wear a 7 in Frye’s buckle harness boots, and after reading reviews for these on the web, I ordered them in an 8 and they fit perfectly! I had to punch holes in the buckles at the calf as they were too loose, but that worked out perfectly, and now they are fab! I was hoping they would have the same cushioned sole that my boyfriend’s Timberlands have, but these definitely do not. And not much arch support, but not terrible either. They are overall very comfortable… just could be better in the soles. I do love that I can cinch them up with the laces which keeps them from sloshing around on my ankles like some boots do. My only true gripe is the price. I think for what you get these boots are about $50 over-priced. But I just had to have them, so I paid the price. And I’m glad I did – I wear them every day! Another note is that slight differences or “defects” (i.e. missing grommets) are made in these boots ON PURPOSE to give them an “old” or “repaired” look – which I love about them.
I was looking forward to getting these boots, (I have one pair of Timberland boots that I love) however when the boots arrived hardware was missing on the lace area of the boots. I called customer service and they sent another pair, that pair also had the same items missing. I called customer service again to find out if they could send the hardware so I could have someone put them on locally or would they offer a discount so a local store could remove the hardware and put on new that would all match. Customer service never returned my call so I returned the boots. Very disappointed in the boots. Poor workmanship and quality control; if 2 pairs of boots can go out to a customer with similar items missing on the boots.
Love, love the look of this boot – the missing gromet is intentional, even the model online has this. They are a bit stiff, but I’m assuming they will break in. I’ve worn them twice now, and they are fairly comfortable. Only wish that these still came in the Tobacco color.
