The midsole is made from the EVA which is very lightweight material used to reduce the fatigue and absorb shocks. The outsole is made from the Vibram® Trail Glove Sole/Rubber Compound TC-1 which provides stable ride with traction of various terrains. It weighs just 7 ounces as per size 10.5. This is an excellent shoe in every way. It looks really good and can be worn with a casual suit. They fit better than any shoe of my wardrobe. The lacing of this shoe is also very well thought out. I have a high instep and it is very difficult for me to find a nice shoe which fits me well. I have to wear very comfortable shoes as well. I often find the top of the pressure too hard on the top of my feet. One solution I do with the shoes is that I had to relace the shoe to avoid crossing over the highest part of the instep and instead lace straight up the side for one or two holes. Unfortunately this is where most shoe tie the tongue to the laces to hold this up and where I had to face a lot of problems. This particular Merrell shoe stitch fabric ties to the tongue. This means that I can lace normally until I get to the first grey loop and then I go to the second grey fabric loop without crossing, then lace normally afterwards which reduces the pressure on the top of the shoe making my feet feel relaxed and cushy the whole time. They sizing is very accurate so you can order your usual size in these. Its been three weeks since I am having these shoes and I couldn’t be more happier. They are very supportive and cushy at the same time. They are holding up quite well so far. These haven proven to be the great shoe ever. I have bought these in brown color and now thinking about having these in black too. My feet firmly set in the footbed due to the shaping and the lacing which provides plenty of room for the toes to spread in the large toe box. They are very flexible and light to walk in. I feel very lucky to have these. I can easily jog and walk in these , bu the mesh shoe is not that warmer which could protect my feet from heavy snow, I think they are basically running shoe which are best for spring and summer. These shoes remind me my first track shoe which came out in the late 60’s and 70’s. Overall a nice shoe to have. Thumbs UP!!
