Featured Review: (by Tom), I liked the way they fit and were true to size.I wish the soles were a little bit softer and had a little more tread on them. I wear them outside on the concrete and asphalt. They seem to get a little hot after wearing for a short time.They really do feel great and look very nice. The material used is very nice and seems to hold up well.I am not so sure I would like them as everyday work shoes for someone on there feet all day.
Compared to the NewBalance walking shoes I usually buy, this shoe feels different. It is comfortable, but there is less between me and the walking surface, especially toward the front of the shoe. I also find that the front of the shoe hits the ground distinctly separately from the heel–not the smooth, continuous contact event I am used to.I have not worn the shoes enough to say that I don’t like them, but I am certainly not used to them yet.
My husband has been wearing this shoe for many years. When he finally wears a pair out, I know I can order another and have it fit like a glove right out of the box. The quality and fit are excellent. It is a great walking shoe and he always stays comfortable no matter how long he is in them. For him, there is no other shoe as comfortable.
I’ve been wearing Rockport shoes principally ProWalkers for the last 15 or 16 years. I used to do a lot of running and I damaged my knees. My doctor advised me to stop running. A friend (who had a similar problem) advised me to get a pair of Rockport ProWalkers to relieve the pain and stress on the knees. Since then I’ve stopped running and almost exclusively wear Rockport shoes. At an age of 72, I no longer have the knee pain.
I’ve been wearing this model for about 15 years and local stores don’t have it any more. But thanks to shoebuy.com, I am now wearing the shoe, again. I just wish more manufacturers would carry a C width, D is too wide for me and B is too narrow. I’ve always had to buy this shoe in a D width.
I bought this shoe for my husband who walks 2 or 3 miles a night as a security guard. He wears this one on weekends and another Rockport black shoe during the week at work. This is a great shoe when you have to be on your feet a lot. I will buy this shoe again when this one wears out.
