My daughter came to visit for Thanksgiving with a pair of these shoes. I tried them on and they were so comfy and warm she ordered me a pair. Shortly after receiving them we had a cold front move into our area with snow and ice. Getting out in such weather with these new shoes on my toes and feet kept warm. I am very pleased with them and so glad that my daughter loaned me hers and then, before she left, ordered the ones I now wear. I have problems with my feet and find these more than adequate for warmth and comfort for my feet.
I never spent much on shoes so the thought of spending $60+ dollars on slippers was hard for me to digest. I’ve worn these slippers for two weeks now, and I can say they are worth every dollar. They are comfortable and durable. I can wear them outside on pavement to get my mail. The cushioning is very good. They feel like soft blankets surrounding your feet, but your feet can feel hot and perspire in warmer weather. These slippers are best for normal or colder termperatures. Overall, I’m very satisfied and do not regret this buy.
Both my wife and I got a pair. The length seems correct, however the wool fabric upper loosened within the first week of wear. This makes the slipper hard to keep on your foot without socks. There is very nice arch support, which is hard to find in a slipper. I think my wife would have ordered a narrow width if she had known how loose the upper is. Normally, she wears a medium width without any problems. She still likes the slippers, but has to wear socks with them. I feel that mine are too loose, also, and my foot has begun slipping out if I am not wearing socks. This is disappointing, since they are not inexpensive slippers.
I bought a pair of these about 12 years ago, and after repairing holes where my big toes wore through the felt (I made efforts at “darning”, or an approximation of it anyway), and the soles were worn completely smooth, and the felt in the footbed finally wore away, I decided it was time for a new pair. I felt I definitely got my money’s worth from the first pair. The first replacement pair I ordered was a little short and narrow, even though they were the same size as my original old slippers. The next size up seems a bit long, but good in the width, and I’ll keep them. The wool felt is so warm, not itchy even with no socks, and breathable and doesn’t make my feel sweaty. The footbed/arch support works well to keep my occasional plantar fasciitis at bay, and the good waterproof sole is great for taking my dog out for quick trips in our backyard.
I bought a pair for myself and for my husband. Because of what other reviewers had said about the sizing I ordered mine a half size larger. I am glad I did. I wore the slippers with some thick socks the first day or so and this helped the slippers to be just right after a couple of days. Unfortunately, my husband wasn’t as patient and determined his were too narrow in the front and we returned them. I had ordered his a full size larger. Overall, I love my slippers and would totally recommend these. I regret that my hubby didn’t give them a real try.
My latest purchase of Haflinger Slippers are the third pair I’ve owned. The first pair was a gift and now I cannot imagine buying any other brand. The are Toasty in the winter yet still comfortable in the summer. With the hard sole you might be tempted to wear them from sun-up to sundown. The only fault I might offer relates to the claim that they can be washed in the the washer. I tried and ended up with a hole in the wool of my left slipper. Other than than the hole they came through just fine, and if I were talented I could cover it with a little needle point.Don’t let the price scare you away, they are worth every last dime.
These are very nice slippers, warm, and comfortable. I usually wear a size 8, and this felt very big. But I wear thick socks with them and it keeps me that much warmer! I have been looking for a shoe/slipper to wear around the house that has good arch support. I was skeptical, but pleasantly surprised to find these had good support. I actually didn’t notice how good the support was until I put on another pair of shoes to go outside and my arch started hurting! The price was higher than I was looking to spend, and I’m not sure I would spend that much again. But ask me again after a year of arch support!
I suffer from fibromyalgia and one of the worst affected parts of the body as far as the pain is concerned, is my feet. I really need shoes/slippers that give good support of the arches and a shoe that is not too tight. The Haflinger Classic Hard Sole Slipper filled both requirements. I am so very pleased with my purchase. What would be even better would be if this same slipper could be made with a leather top, rather than felt because then I’d feel able to wear it outdoors as well!
