I never bothered about writing reviews about the shoes I purchased, after wearing Merrell Intercept for more than 3 years, I have finally decided to write this review. I remember the day when I went to the local store looking for a new pair. I tried out many styles from different brands, but was not very satisfied, because this time I was looking for comfort. While browsing I gazed on the Merrell shelf and immediately picked a sandal to try on, It was good, but I wanted to try another pair and it was Intercept. I can never forget the moment the first time I wore these shoes, I immediately fell in love with the comfort. My whole body including my mind went into relaxing mode. I liked them so much that I asked the shopkeeper to pack my old shoes in the new box. I bought those in blue color which I can no longer find anywhere. Anyway after a few months I bought another pair of Intercept in black color. I weigh 103 kilos, which it seems to have no problem with. Since the day of its purchase I have only worn these shoes daily and yet they are in perfect condition. I do have purchased many other styles from different brands, but all of them were no match for this beast. I purchased a pair of Nike shoes for $112, wore them once when I went to vacations in Dubai, I can’t explain how much it hurt my feet. I had blisters all under my feet, walking in them was a nightmare, I immediately went back to my Merrell. I purchased Hush Puppies slip-ons and they were just another average shoe. I also bought caterpillar boots, I do not expect them to be as comfortable as these, but they are perfect for cold weather and snow. Though I wore them once too.
I once completely destroyed them when my feet went more than a feet under mud, I had to wash them with shampoo, and it did not effect on them in any way. This is definitely the most comfortable shoe of my life, and I plan to buy 3 or 4 more of them. The only negative aspect I see in these is that they slip on tiled surfaces when they are wet, but still I will not complain, as we all know nothing is perfect in this world.
I love this style so much. I’ll wear them until they wear out. Million stars…. 😀
This is a great shoe from Merrell. Stylish and snug-fitcomfortable as long as you order up 1/2 size as others have suggested. The toe box is a little narrow, but designed that way I think for cycling or climbing. Inspired detailing and color coordination give these shoes a slightly Native American Indian flavor. Somebody at Merrell really knows their stuff when it comes to eye-pleasing design. Had to order 2 pair – mocha and black – very happy with both. The Vibram soles have terrific traction but might wear quickly on cement or hard pavement.
First time buyer from this company and I could not have made a better choice. This shoe is extremely comfortable, has great style and fit. I am glad I purchased a half size larger or I would have had to return them. I usually purchase Ecco products and now have 2 favorite shoe companies to choose from. I highly recommend this product.
I love the look and quality of these. Currently I’m stationed in Iraq and I desperately needed a pair of shoes. So when mine arrived I put them on and hit the streets. They seemed a little narrow near the toes but I thought they just needed to be broken in. Wrong, now I have a great pair of shoes with numb toes. When I get back to the states, I will probably not wear them due to my discomfort. It’s too bad because I like the shoes.
I’m a big fan of Merrell shoes, this is my sixth pair. These shoes are extremely comfortable. The foot bed conforms to my foot giving me plenty of support. The sole is quite flexible requiring no break in. Not much room for extra-thick socks though, must use regular athletic socks. I do love the overall design, quite unique and have already gotten compliments.
AMAZING SHOES!! I read the reviews before I bought these shoes and thought that people might have been exaggerating, but when I wore these shoes I realized that they are just perfect and all the reviews I have read were true. The moment I put these shoes on I knew that they will be the most comfortable pair ever because they were by Merrell. Merrell has done a nice job. Merrell shoes fit you very well. I have neuropathy in my toes and need a shoe which has space at the front. I also need a shoe with orthodox insert. This shoe fits my needs and they are very comfortable from the very first day of use. It is the only shoe that is consistent enough for me to buy over the internet without trying these on. If you use a full insert then you should order a half size larger than the original size. These are my first pair of Merrell and they are awesome. I have decided to buy this brand more. I used to wear Frye shoes before and have been wearing these from the last 5 years and this time I wanted to wear a different brand and I am on the right path. I love wearing these with my khaki pants at work because I can dress casual and go out in these. They offer a lot of ventilation, so they can get cold in the winter time. They have helped my feet not hurt from standing by the end of the day and at the same time very durable too. You should try wearing these. Go for it!
I was seeking for a great pair of walking shoe on pavement and my feet are an honest 10.5. I have never bought a size 11 in my life. I ordered 11 this time because I read many reviews about these, but these shoes were still too small which was a surprise for me. I finally fit 11.5 and which look good too. The heel of this shoe is not tapered enough to prevent sliding of the heel off the sole on every step I took, but for the price I have given for this shoe it doesn’t allow any slipping. but it is a bit disappointing as it is not very comfortable. I had a pair of Ventilators and love these and assumed that Merrell shoes will be even greater than those and purchased. These intercept shoes are stiff and narrow and cramped in the toes. I have also felt that something was jabbing my arch in the right shoe. Which is too bad. They look great. I am living in the Pacific Northwest and therefore I wanted a shoe that is rugged enough to use for hiking and also very attractive and comfortable , therefore I selected Merrell , but they are not up to the mark. Overall it is an ok shoe.
