The mesh makes the upper breathable and the synthetic provides durability. The upper also has the laces and pull on tab at the back which allows personalized and secure fit along with easy wearing. These boots also have the GORE-TEX® membrane which ensures dry and comfortable wearing. The lining is made from the mesh which is soft and treated with the Aegis® antimicrobial technology to keep the feet completely protected from the odor, bacteria and moisture. The footbed is treated with the Ortholite® anatomical solution to enable ultra-comfortable walking experience. The arch shank is made from the nylon to provide excellent arch support. The midsole has the Merrell Air Cushion® technology used in its construction which provides shocks absorption to minimize the stress on the legs and foot. The outsole is made from the Vibram® TC5+ rubber. This outsole also features 6 millimeter deep lugs which enables traction regardless on the terrain and whether it is dry or wet. I work as a gardener at Glacier Park Lodge in East Glacier, MT. I’m outdoors every day and chose Merrell’s Siren Song Mid Sport Gore-Tex boot as my work shoe because of their style, comfort, light weight and, most importantly, their waterproof Gore-Tex membrane. These boots have met every expectation except that, after three weeks of wear, they are leaking and my feet are wet. My job requires that I’m around water and rugged, wet soil every day. I therefore need boots that are not only durable, but ones that will keep my feet DRY.
