I would normally buy an XXW shoe or boot, but in this boot I needed only an XW width. I can wear the XXW boot, but it is somewhat wider than I need and really requires that I wear a very heavy sock to compensate. The XW boot fits perfectly and is very comfortable right out of the box, even with my bad feet. I wear orthotic inlays in my boots, and these boots really do accommodate them quite well. I am extremely happy with these boots and plan on buying another pair to keep as a spare.
