Featured Review: (by Joe), I’ve owned these boots for about 8 months. They’ve felt great when I first tried them on and feel even better once formed to my feet. Laces haven’t torn or lace loops/buckles tore off. The boots have proven very versatile. From moving jobs, landscaping, construction, hiking and everyday leisure use. I’m about 280 pounds and I work hard. I work anywhere from 8-16 hours days. These boots have remained comfortable and supportive, never leaving my feet sore or in pain. When Timberland says puncture proof they mean it. I’ve caught countless nails/screws in the soles never penetrating through to my feet. When doing demolition I never have to worry about or watch out for nails or any other sharp objects I may step on. They don’t feel heavy for a boot. Never have I questioned the weight of these boots during a long day of work. There is literally nothing wrong or negative I could say about these boats. The only advice I could give is to wear long socks, I prefer long cotton ones. But you should already know that if your wearing mid cut boots or any work boot.

  1. Jason the worker says:

For years I have purchased the traditional work boot with the sewn on sole and have struggled with blisters, sore feet and boots that wear out quickly (I am talking 3 months time). I wanted to try these out because they have more of a sneaker bottom and I never have problems with my work out sneakers. I have had these now for more than three months now and they are just as comfortable as the day I bought them, no more sore feet at the end of the day, no blisters and no premature wear out. They do feel a half size larger but that could be cause I ordered them in the wide width, as the insoles show my toe marks at the tip. The tongue does slip to the side a little but it is no different than any other boot that I have purchased. Those that have commented that this boot is uncomfortable I would suggest that they have a sizing issue or that this boot style is just not correct for their foot motion type. I am a moderate underpronator and this shoe is perfect for me.

  2. HVAC Tech. Patrick says:

I am a HVAC tech and wear these boots every single day. I had a foot injury last year and had to rethink all of my footwaer. I was a Red Wing man for almost 20 years and these boots are what converted me. They hold up well and look pretty good. I own two pairs-one for work and one for stepping out. The only negative I have on these boots is that they are heavy, but you can get used to it.

  3. Russ says:

These boots are great! I usually can find them at […] on sale for about $100. They are the only boots that I have worn where my feet don’t hurt after 40 – 70 hours of work on concrete and rebar a week. I am a construction electrician so I need a boot that can handle all type of situations. I had to throw out my second pair after working 8 hours in 4 inches of standing water in a manhole. So I can’t recommend them for wet work, but that was an extreme condition. I have noticed the tongue problem, but that doesn’t bother me enough to say no to these boots. The only con is that they wear out after 6-8 months. That means they last anywhere from 1000 to 1400 hours. I can deal with $200 a year to have my feet not hurt. Wear some decent boot socks and you’ll be walking on clouds.

Factory worker that does alot of walking, good cushioning that wore out after 2 months, have owned boots for 6 months now and sole is coming apart causing comfort issue, these boots have worn out way too quick for the cost. Longer sole life and better quality needed, would not buy this product again or recommend.

  5. Adam says:

I liked these boots other than the fact that the Black cushion on the back top part of the boot toor off my boots after 3 months and I have not put them on since. I will not buy another pair for that price they should last longer. The […] brands are not as nice nor as cumfortable, but they hold together beter!!!

I want to like these boots, I’ve been buying Timberland boots for 8 years now, even thought the soles wear out fast. I thought I’d try these because they seemed heavy duty. I’d love the boots if the leather wasn’t already separating from the sole or the the toe rubber. I’ve only had the boots for 4 months. I don’t think I’d spend the money for them again unless they fix the poor craftsmanship.

  7. Sunshine says:

Boots are great, i wanted to give it a higher ranking but i had the same problem as sparky the souls wore out on bottom AFTER 8 MONTHS and my feet were getting wet. I am on exposed aggregate all day long so the conditions are tougher than normal. Anyone with normal conditions these boots are great. I love the rubber protection on top of toe , crawling on concrete all day this feature is wonderful.

  8. Frank says:

Probably the best work boot I have ever owned. I have had these boots for 1 week and they feel like I’ve had them for years. They are lighter than they look and are very flexible, which is important to me, cause I’m a carpenter and I am on industrial and comercial jobbsites, and i am on my feet all day, and some jobs I do a lot of bendeing and kneeling. And I have to say once again these boots are great and to top it off they look good too.

  9. On my feet all day says:

I was very happy with my Wolverine boots, but the eyelets cut the laces, so I was looking for boots that used grommets instead of eyelets. I bought these by reccomendation of the store employee. He has obviously never worn these boots! The first pair, I returned after only a week because the tongue kept going to the side on one of the boots. This pair BOTH of the tongues go to the side, I have seen other posts with the same comment, which leads me to believe that this is a design flaw. Of course the boot store told me it is the way I lace my boots, as if I just started tying my own shoes! Aside from the tongue issues, I have been wearing these boots for a month now, and they are just as stiff as the day I bought them. Most boots take a week or so to break in, but this is rediculas! I wish that I had bought the Wolverines again, replacing the laces every month dosent seem like that big a deal now….

  10. Preacher Man says:

I was told at date of purchase to water proof the boots. So I did just that and one boot turned into a tiedie boot and the other remained true to color with some spots of discoloring. Who eats the cost???? They are comfortable I like the way they fit and look. Though I only wore them a couple of hours before spraying them. I lost big money. Do not water proof the boots

  11. Jo Jo says:

Good for walking on warehouse concrete floors. Feels springy, even after a while.Laces r great dont know why they say they break.I wear 100 pct wool socks so breathing not a problem.Still in decent shape. Use them as back up for outside house work.Best comfort ever.firm fitting.all my boots wear out quickly on bottom, these wore out like 3 times slower, and outside seams r not noticeably ripped until about 9 months by heel or arch on just 1 boot. but salt n winter eats everything.Just get the waterproof ones.

  12. Eric P says:

I don’t work construction or any other job that would put these boots to a test. I work a computer job. I bought these boots because of their comfort. They are comfortable but very heavy.

The biggest issue I have with these boots is the waterproof liner wore out after just 6 months of use. I first noticed it when the boots started leaking even in snow and small puddles. Then I noticed I had holes wore through at the heel and up front close to the steel toe. Timberland either needs to improve their liner or just break down and use Gortex liners. Nothing like this has ever happened to any of my boots with Gortex liners.

  13. Rock says:

I have had these boots for two months and they are falling apart at the seams and the leather right behind the toe guard is already getting a hole. The worst is if you have to do work at an downward slope and when your foot slides forward the steel toe is made so it just stabs at your toes the whole time. I have gone through a lot of work boots from die hard to wolverines to red wings and some cheap ones at dsw and these are by far the worst boot I have bought. I figured for the money you spend on these boots you would get good quality guess I was wrong. Hope this helps.

  14. Tower Monkey says:

I wore boots 8-16 hours per day for 14 months, very comfortable. I climb and work on commmunication towers in all weather conditions and boots did not fail me. I have had the sole finally wear out and I have gladly ordered another pair. The first pair of Timberlands that I could find that were CSA approved and would recommend to anyone.

  15. Barn Renovator says:

I looked long and hard for a 6″ boot that is insulated, waterproof, has safety toe, is electrically safe and puncture proof. I also did not want an elevated heel like a logger style boot. I settled on this boot even though it is not insulated. I am very happy with the boot durability and comfort overall. With the right socks I’ve worked outside all day down to 10 deg F. However, the first time I stepped in a puddle deeper than the toe, I quickly discovered the tongue gusset is not waterproof. Now I have to be very careful to clear snow from on top of the boot laces or I will have a soggy sock in no time. SORRY, THIS DOES NOT MEET MY DEFINITION OF A WATERPROOF BOOT! 🙁

  16. CNC Machine Repair Gu says:

This was the most comfortable pair of Timberlands I have owned yet. I was really pleased with them until the sole started seperating on both boots. I have had them about a year and a half though. I wear them at work, and I do alot of walking on concrete floor so comfort is very important to me. I guess I will be investing in another pair.

  17. 7042 says:

Use eveyday 9 hours at a time working in a shop constantly moving on my feet around slippery and hazardous surfaces. This boot by far is the most comfortable boot I have ever used. Unfortunately, you pay for the comfort by giving up the durability. I am on my second pair of these boots. The first pair lasted 7 months before I had to retire them. The main issue is the sole wears through especially if you are constantly walking. Other than that, it is a well made quality boot that does the job well. For me, it’s worth giving up the extended durability that other models may offer, just to be able to work in 100% comfort. They’re comfortable out of the box, but once you break them in after a few days of use, they feel like they are molded to your foot.

  18. Texas Landscaper says:

This boot was uncomfortable from the very beginning. Not sure if it was the sizing or just the boot style, however this boot would actually peel back my toe nails at times. As for durability. This boot is HORRIBLE!!! Complete waste of $$$. The outer leather portion separated from the seams in less than 6 months of daily landscape use … specifically when climbing trees.

  19. Communication Tower Climber says:

The boot did’nt fit me well but Timberland’s 30day guarantee is great!! I returned the boots to Timberland and got my money back without any hassles. I will definitely be buying more Timberlands. Good cushion, for standing long periods, however when doing a lot of walking it is too heavy and the tongue slides to the side.

  20. Railroad Conductor says:

I am a railroad conductor and spend a lot of time walking on slanted ballast on the sides of railroad tracks, but my feet are never tired at the end of the day. After spraying it with a silicone protector I can work all day in the rain and my feet are not wet. The rubber coating on the toes helps prevent rocks from scuffing the toes. These have proven to be a very good pair of boots and I am very happy with them.

  21. David the electrical service king says:

I bought this boot last year after having another pair of timberland work boots. These boots are by far the most comfortable work boot i have ever owned or tried on. When i bought the boots i bought a tight fit and they streched out quickly to the form of my foot, very comfortable fit after i broke them in for a weekend. The only problem i have had with these boots is that they get slippery when wet, theres been a few places where i slip and almost fall on wet grounds.

  22. Logan says:

I found these to run large, causing the heels to wear down very quickly. Wearing my boots 10+ hours a day 7 days a week, I have had to purchase multiple sets of replacement heel pads. I love the durability, however, I blow the toes out of boots in no more than four months, but these have lasted 6 months easily and with little signs of wear. I will buy the same boots next time, only a half size smaller.

  23. Meterman says:

I am a meter reader for a utility so I put alot of miles on a boot. 30 days in, boot is comfortable, has kept feet dry in several downpours, but have already worn a hole in both insoles! I could replace the whole boot under the comfort gaurantee, but thats wasteful. Timberland needs to address this issue as there is another reviewer here with the same issue and I saw another review at another website with the same problem. This surprising as Timberland boots are normally high-quality and I have pairs I have worn for years with the same insole! I cannot recomend this boot unless Timberland replaces the insoles.

  24. Chad W says:

Bought these boots at Bass pro shops. Never bought Timberlands before and probably never will again. Complaints I share with others:
-Tongues slip constantly out of place – CHECK
-Took forever to break in – CHECK
Plus, the entire sole of the right boot is now de-laminating itself, peeling apart like layers on an onion. Boots are less than 6 months old and only worn about 2 days a week.
    Very dissappointing
